The society was divided between the aristocracy, clergy and peasants, this division produced two tracks in the dance:

 The Nobleness Style represented by dance works made by lines of dancers that took specific positions in the whole dance.

The Popular Style. Where dancing performed by couples was totally anarchic induced by the rhythm rather than by organized patterns.

The term "Dance Club", translated from the German "Tanzsport" means an advanced form of dance that is the subject of sporting competitions.

His technique involves a high degree of physical exercise and an artistic component at once.

It is practiced in seventy countries around the world, which are represented at the International Dance Sport Federation (IDSF).

In many countries this dance is officially recognized as a sport.

In 1992 the IDSF was accepted as a member of the General Association of International Sports Federations (GAISF), and in 1995 was recognized as an international sports federation by the International Olympic Committee (IOC).

The Spanish Association of Sports and Dance Competition (AEBDC) was founded in 1990 and since 1991 has become a member of the IDSF. In recent years the AEBDC is growing significantly, both in terms of number of partners and in its activities.
The schedule includes more than fifteen competitions and contests per years, with a volume of participation per competition that has overcome the three hundred couples.

Since 1994 the AEBDC is regularly engaged in the official IDSF Championships and other prestigious international competitions.

The last notable event was the formal acceptance of the International Dance Sport Federation as a sports federation by the International Olympic Committee, which sets the dance to live up to other Olympic sports, approving its inclusion in the forthcoming Olympic programs.
